From Michelle's loving parents and brother
Rubye, Richard and I have been deeply affected by the untimely departure of our loving Michelle at such a tender age. This is not the natural order of things; as parents, we did not expect to outlive our children.
Most of you may already be aware that Michelle was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer when she was 23 years old. Her chances of surviving beyond five years were less than 20%. Despite this bleak prediction, we pursued aggressive treatment, clinging to the hope that she would overcome it. And indeed, she did, surpassing all expectations by living for an additional 25 years. It was an incredible gift for us and countless others. Throughout those years, Michelle lived a life filled with fulfillment. She embarked on exciting adventures around the globe, exploring countries like Turkey, Thailand, Ghana, Belgium, France, the US, and many others. We admired her dedication to these experiences. Some of these trips were actually aimed to uplift and enhance the lives of others. She also formed lasting connections with friends, continuously expanding her circle of loved ones. Her passion for various art forms allowed her to express her creativity, and she remained deeply committed to exploring nature and advocating for environmental preservation. Her compassion for others was truly unmatched. We consider ourselves fortunate to have had the gift of Michelle's presence in our lives for an additional 25 years; a true blessing for us and those fortunate enough to know her. Her passing continues to be devastating, and it's possible that we may never fully recover from the loss of Michelle. From her loving parents and brother, Marc, Rubye and Richard Askenazi
